Welcome  to  the  XJC  Restoration  Page

I guess at one time or another we have all considered about doing a restoration on an XJC.  A restoration comes at many different levels, not only in the amount of work considered, ie: a full restoration or just a body work restoration. But also in the time allotted, ie: will it be a slow bit by bit restoration, or, here's the coupe... ring me when it's ready!  Before you begin to splash your hard earned money around, you will best be advised to do a little homework... it could save a lot of heartache further down the track.

A restorers dream... now where would you start ?

If you are not already in a Jaguar club, (and why aren't you!) contact them and speak to the register secretary who is responsible for the XJC 's.  They will now a coupe owner who has probably been there and done it before.  Talk to them, go see the car and also visit the restorer.  Ask lots of questions and make sure what is included and what is not.  Once you feel comfortable with the restorer and you BOTH have a good understanding of what is expected, then it is a good bet that you will not be disappointed.

The good news is we know someone who has done a full restoration, and they are willing to share all their pain and joy with us.  Don Lewis from Melbourne in Australia, decided to do a restoration on his newly purchased Jaguar XJ12C. Don not only performed a truly magnificent restoration, but along the way he improved the vehicle with use of more modern and effective materials such as sound proofing etc

So folks, if you have a coupe and you are contemplating some beauty treatment for your loved one, then look no further.  Don will show you what to do and what not to do.  Click on the link below if you want to
